Richard Harrington, CEO
email:A certified instructor for Adobe, Apple, and Avid, Rich is a practiced expert in motion graphic design and digital video. Starting his career out in the world of broadcast journalism, Rich has always had great interest in visual communications. His producing skills were also recognized by AV Video Multimedia Producer Magazine who named him as one of the Top Producers of 2004.
Rich is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals Instructor Dream Team, and a popular speaker on the digital video circuit. He has chaired conferences since 2003 for the National Association of Broadcasters.
Rich is an internationally published author. His book, Photoshop for Video, was the first of its kind to focus on Photoshop’s application in the world of video. He is also a contributing author for Apple’s Aperture, iLife ’08 and iWork ’08, Final Cut Pro On the Spot, After Effects On the Spot, After Effects at Work, and Producing Video Podcasts.
A Masters Degree in Project Management fills out Rich’s broad spectrum of experience. Rich enjoys traveling and digital photography, as well as teaching his kids the joys of science fiction and comic books.
Mark Weiser, President
email:Mark merges creative talents with bottom-line realism. As president, Mark oversees all aspects of business operations at RHED Pixel. But Mark doesn’t lock himself in the office, he likes to get out into the field or studio and be a hands-on creative. Mark’s role on projects is to manage all production, and with his broad technical knowledge he can fill multiple crew positions on set.
Mark’s recent projects include an award winning educational documentary on the history of agriculture in Montgomery County, multiple internal communication productions for several Fortune 500 clients, hundreds of video podcasts for Pearson Education, plus videography and project management for a documentary for the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.
Mark has also been called upon to share his expertise to the film and video industry as a featured speaker at DV Expo and the National Association of Broadcasters conferences. He is also the co-author of Producing Video Podcasts from Focal Press.
Mark holds a Bachelors Degree from the College of William and Mary and a Masters in Communications with a concentration in Film and Video from The American University. When he can, Mark enjoys sneaking away for some skiing out West.
Emmanuel Etim II, Production Manager
email:Emmanuel’s experience coupled with exceptional communication skills makes him the perfect liaison between cutting edge technology and client needs. As a Production Manager, Emmanuel oversees the pre-production and production stages for many of our projects involving studio or field production and often travels around the country as a key crew member.
Emmanuel is a passionate advocate of cultural and religious understanding, volunteering his production knowledge to youth groups, immigrant cultural festivals and mega churches. In addition to 6 years of video production of commercials and live events in the U.S, Emmanuel has coordinated independent projects in the United Kingdom and in West Africa. His past roles include interactive media education producer, production coordinator and marketing associate.
Emmanuel graduated from Michigan State University’s Digital Media Arts program. He received a MA in Digital Media Arts and holds a BA in Telecommunications in addition to a Certificate in African Studies from Michigan State University.
As a graduate student, Emmanuel was sponsored by National Black Programming Consortium and Michigan State University to edit 3 short films for PBS, each dealt with stories about black lives and their encounters with humanity at various stations in life.
Nicole Haddock, Senior Editor
email:Nicole brings 10 years of experience in video production to the RHED Pixel team. As our post-production coordinator, Nicole ensures that all projects get close attention during the editing and graphics stages. She also helps keep an eye on quality as RHED Pixel’s Senior Editor. Nicole's past roles include multimedia producer, broadcast and print designer, and technical support.
Some projects she has proudly edited include Del-Jen: Working for Fluor and Children’s National Medical Center’s Transform campaign. Nicole has also advanced her art by attending both The Workshops in Rockport, Maine and The Editors Retreat.
Nicole has produced and edited 3 award winning shorts for the 48 Hour Film Project as well as "Still Singing", a short documentary on a local barbershop quartet which aired on PBS.
Nicole holds a Bachelor's Degree in Video Production from Emerson College and is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts in Film and Electronic Media program at American University. When she’s not busy with work or school, Nicole enjoys baking delicious pies and emersing herself in many of Bravo’s original series.
Pamela Vinal, Project Manager
email:Pam brings a sense of enjoyment to every project she works on. Working with many of our clients, Pam has produced over a thousand podcasts for Google, Pearson Education, MommyCast, and Peachpit Press.
As a Project Manager, Pam ensures that every step of a project meets a client’s expectations. With a keen eye for detail, she brings her combined experiences in journalism and video production to the RHED Pixel team. A graduate from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, she received a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor concentration in English Literature.
Pam has previously worked on the creation of several documentary television series including MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16,” and HGTV’s “Curb Appeal.” When she’s not busy with podcasting or pulling office pranks, Pam enjoys playing sports and listening to classic 80’s music.
Megan Tytler, Project Manager
email:Megan’s creative flare and bubbly attitude make her a key addition to the RHED Pixel team. As a Project Manager Megan works closely with clients to guide them through all stages of a project – from pre-production to delivery. Working with a variety of clients, Megan has managed projects ranging from 3D motion control imagery for a documentary film to producing several videos for the American Diabetes Association. Some other clients include the National Science Resources Center, the Department of Energy, and the Retirement Living Network.
The variety of her experiences makes her the perfect fit for a company that is always trying new things. Megan has previously worked as a production coordinator in London, UK and as a graphic designer for various advertisement campaigns.
Megan graduated from American University with a Bachelors Degree in Film and Media Arts and a Minor in Graphic Design. When she’s not working, Megan enjoys traveling and has been known to engage in an occasional Guitar Hero challenge.
Ian Pullens, Creative Department
email:Ian makes sure to bring his unique perspective and innovative touches to every project he works on. Drawing from classical aesthetics, Ian enjoys putting a contemporary spin on graphic design, as seen in many in work for the Johnson Group, Del-Jen, American Chemical Society, and AIPAC.
Ian grew up traveling in a military family. He discovered his passion for design and photography while working as a web and print designer in Germany. After moving to the Washington, DC area, Ian began to explore the world of filmmaking where he found a new love and avenue to express himself creatively. Ian has since worked on over 20 films in various positions, establishing himself in the independent film industry.
Ian won second place in the Adobe Design Competition, a contest that requires students to create video productions of four minutes or less in length primarily with Adobe software. In his spare time Ian enjoys exploring various art media such as music and filmmaking and also takes pleasure in skiing and spending time with his family.
Adam Martray, Editor
email:Adam has 10 years of experience cutting everything from 16mm film to HD video. Adam is a talented editor who works great in many genres. He has cut drama, entertainment, educational, and motivational videos. Along with editing, he also has years of production experience under his belt, proving to be a valuable asset to the RHED Pixel team.
Adam has a Bachelor of Science degree in Cinema & Photography from Ithaca College and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production at The Art Institute of Washington.
Adam has served as Director of Photography on the 2007 48 Hour Film Festival entry Fourge, and as DP and editor on the 2008 entry Fickel Fortune. In his spare time Adam enjoys attending concerts and is quite the skilled video gamer.
Xi Lin, Creative Department
email:Xi adds to our graphics department with a unique and modern approach that comes through in all of his designs. Born in China, Xi came to the US when he was 9 years old with a passion for design and has since continued to hone his talents.
Xi graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Kinetic Imaging. His previous experiences include producing two High Definition spots for PBS that chronicle helicopter emergency medical technicians at VCU’s Medical Center in Richmond, VA and working at the CBS affiliate for Richmond’s local news broadcast. When Xi isn’t working, he enjoys camping and showing off his pool skills with friends.
